First entry in 2025. It's been a while since i regularly updated my site. A couple of tweaks here and there, and finally put in some content i guess. It's almost 10 PM rn and i feel quite in the mood to type something. Feeling quite drowsy a bit since i just got back home from hanging out with my friends all day. Ugh, i also need to clean my room, it's such a mess. As long as i got iced coffee and a good playlist, i can finish it by tonight.
Well, quick life update. The last few months been pretty wild. Almost graduated, thesis, joined a big research project, moved into a new place, and got engaged in a span of 3 months. Damn... It's been a wild ride, and it'll stay that way i think. Regardless it's been a quite fun rollercoaster of life haha.
Anyways, i got a lot of free time besides writing my thesis proposal these days. I recently got into crocheting and have been learning the basics for a week. Now, i'm currently working on a bag and crochet tools case. I swear crochet taught me to be verryyy patient cause it feels like FOREVER to make one item. I hope i can make it before march ends. Regardless, i enjoy my new hobby. It's relaxing and i feel like i got the ability to make anything i want lmao. I also wanna decor my room with lots of garden-themed crochet stuffs, like vines and flowers. Sounds very cute tbh.
Having my own personal website is the greatest choice i've ever made! Publishing your work on social media feels like anxiety inducing istg and it also feels pretty limiting. Maybe because i'm obsessed with making everything personalized, and indie web gave me that kind of sweet sweet freedom. A place where you can put your work out there without worrying about algorithm and likes? Without all the stupid drama and without trashy uninteresting posts flooding your timeline? Just you and stuffs that you're interested in? Your very own place on the net? I'm in.
Social media is a disease anyway and doomscrolling is harmful. I'm not usually the type that'll throw temper tantrum if i read something i didn't like, but it's getting tiring and boring to see it over and over again (yep, the "not interested" feature didn't work as it SHOULD be). It doesn't mean i'm leaving social media completely (even if i wanted to) cause that's where i get connected with my friends. Oh well, at least now i spend less time there and more time here.
Enough of that, now let's talk about 2025. I knew new years day is like 3 months ago, but what's Pearl new year solution? Let's see..
♡ Get back into hobby and maybe learn new ones, i've always been into arts and craft (drawing, painting, crochet, pottery) so i should probably do that more this year.
♡ Finish my thesis by the end of 2025 so i can graduate sooner. Maybe also joined at least one conference.
♡ Wardrobe refresh! I feel like my body just got into 2nd puberty and it's time for new fashion stuffs. I also wanna try goth fashion on the side.
♡ Save some money! Please for the love of God, pearl. You have to stop over-spending, you're about to get married ffs.
♡ Finish erwin pries shrine so i can continue to work on my momomiya ichigo shrine.
♡ Read more books, especially poetry books since i want to write more poems, but i should also read other stuffs, especially feminism and history literature.
Hopefully i can update this site more this year. It's been fun decorating and making shrines. I'm glad that 2025 started pretty good unlike last year. I hope this is gonna be my year. I also hope i can finally defend my thesis proposal by early april, so i can start my research. I'm tired of chasing my professor for it but oh well, that's college life for ya lol.
